Aunt Shoots 14-Year-Old Niece During Gun Lesson, Police Said
A pistol-packing auntie who was trying to teach her niece how to use a gun accidentally shot the girl, police said.

HOUSTON, TX — A 14-year-old girl was wounded Thursday night after her aunt accidentally shot her, police said. The shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m. on Southminster Drive in southwest Houston.
Police said the roommate of the aunt had been robbed earlier in the evening, so she showed her roommate where she kept her weapon.
The woman told police she cleared the weapon and was trying to teach the child how to use a gun when she accidentally pulled the trigger. A single bullet hit the girl in the hand and the thigh.
