HOUSTON, TX — A documentary originally meant to be a 100th birthday celebration of beloved actress Betty White now will commemorate her life and acting career.

White died Friday just weeks before her 100th birthday, but the producers of "Betty White: A Celebration" will move forward with Fathom Events to show the documentary at theaters across the country on Jan. 17.

"Our hearts mourn today with the passing of Betty White," producers Steve Boettcher and Mike Trinklein said in a statement on the Fathom Events website. "During the many years we worked with her, we developed a great love and admiration for Betty as a person, and as an accomplished entertainer. We are thankful for the many decades of delight she brought to everyone.
