Beyonce Reportedly Interested In Buying Houston Rockets
Her husband, Jay Z, has previous experience as partial NBA team owner

HOUSTON, TX — Houstonian Beyonce is supposedly interested in purchasing a share of the Houston Rockets, which have recently been put up for sale. The world-famous pop star has always shown her affection for the hometown NBA team, and she's the kind of attraction that current owner Les Alexander is looking for in a potential owner.
Alexander announced in July he would entertain offers to sell the team. He purchased the Rockets for for $85 million in 1993, and today the value is estimated at $1.65 billion, which would make it the eighth most valuable team in the league.
Beyonce's husband, rap star Jay Z, was once a partial owner of the Brooklyn Nets but eventually sold his share after starting RocNation, a company that represents athletes.

Bloomberg reported today that the Houston Rockets' popularity in China could push the going price to $2 billion. Alexander has stated he wished to sell the team to someone who will vow to keep them in Houston, and Beyonce fits the bill. She's one of the most popular stars on the planet and her estimated net worth is $350 million while Jay Z is estimated to be worth $810 million.
She wouldn't be the first entertainer to be part owner of a sports franchise. Justin Timberlake, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, owns a piece of basketball’s Grizzlies; tennis players Venus and Serena Williams, as well as Jennifer Lopez, are shareholders of the Miami Dolphins and actor Will Ferrell owns shares in Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club.
