1. Black Restaurant Week Houston is running now through Sunday, April 10. The week is "designed to help revitalize and bring attention to Black-owned restaurants in the city." In 2021, Black Restaurant Week said it helped 1,200 Black-owned restaurants across the country increase revenue by about 15%. (KHOU 11)

2. I-10 Katy Freeway has closed all eastbound lanes this weekend to undergo repairs. Crews started with work on Houston Avenue Bridge at the exit to North Shepherd and Durham Drive on Friday at 8 p.m. and will run until Monday at 5 a.m. (ABC 13)

3. On Saturday, March 26, hundreds of future students and their families attended UHD's Destination Downtown to learn why the university is continually recognized for its diversity, high impact, and affordability, and to explore pathways to becoming UHD Gators. Prospective students and their parents received a preview of the university's five colleges and 45 undergraduate degree programs. (University Of Houston - Downtown)

4. Houston-native Brittney Griner's legal team has been quietly seeking her release and has declined to speak out about the case since her arrest was made public. 5. Houston drivers are hoping to feel relief at the pump as U.S. President Joe Biden works to release oil reserves to combat high gas prices. Local resident Greg Hadley says he's paying 30% more in gas now than he did two months ago. (ABC 13)

  • A suspect opened fire on Humble police officers during a traffic stop Friday afternoon at FM 1960 and Deerbrook Park, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. (ABC 13)
