Conroe Sewage Released Into Little Caney Creek After Pump Fails

An estimated 1 million gallons of sewage was released into Little Caney Creek after a pump at a Conroe lift station failed, officials said.

CONROE, TX — A lift station failure earlier this week cause at least a million gallons of sanitary sewage to back up into Little Caney Creek. The city of Conroe shared the information in a press release.

City officials said the lift station experienced a pump failure on Monday that backed up into Little Caney Creek, to an area north of Creighton Road in Conroe.

Work crews responded to the area immediately and were able to stop the backflow of sewage into the creek by re-engaging the pump, city officials said.
