Crime Stoppers Offers Reward In 2014 Child Indecency Probe

HOUSTON — Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Special Victims Unit are looking for a man who sexually abused two young children in 2014, and then threatened to harm their families, police said. Elder Chevez-Portillo is wanted on two counts of indecency with a child.

Investigators said that between June and August 2014, Chevez-Portillo, 36, inappropriately touched two children who were living with him in the 7500 block of Bellerive Drive in Houston.

The children were living with Chevez-Portillo after recently migrating from Honduras with their family.

Investigators said Chevez-Portillo warned the children to keep silent about the sexual abuse, and threatened to throw their family out on the street if they told anyone what had happened.

Chevez-Portillo is a Hispanic male, approximately 5-feet8 and between, 170 - 180 pounds. He has with brown eyes and short black hair.

Investigators said he most recently lived in Fort Bend county and is a Honduran national.

Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-TIPS (8477).
