Driver Pleads Guilty In Fatal Grand Parkway Crash: Police

Charles Glaze was pleaded guilty to 2 counts of manslaughter and was sentenced to 15-years in prison for each charge, officials said.

HOUSTON — A man who caused a horrific crash on the Grand Parkway in December 2018 that killed two people and injured five others, pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter.

Charles Glaze, 54, was sentenced to 15-years in prison on each manslaughter charge on June 25 after entering his guilty plea, officials said.

Investigators said Glaze was traveling west on the Grand Parkway, when he went airborne across the center median of the Grand Parkway, shearing off the top of Linda Fugitti’s Lexus and crashing head on into a Chevrolet HHR driven by Michael Brown, killing both instantly.

Brown’s wife, Charlotte, was injured in the crash, and was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, with four other motorists who were also injured, police said.

Glaze, who told police he had a history of seizures, was wearing an ankle monitor and leaving his probation officer’s office in Spring, when he apparently blacked out behind the wheel.

Glaze, was out on bail for a previous charge of kidnapping and aggravated assault after a woman who was visiting her sister's grave site at Klein Memorial Cemetery in Tomball, claimed Glaze used a stun gun and tried to kidnap her.

Investigators said Glaze’s Ford F-150 pickup was traveling about 20 miles over the posted 75-mile per hour speed limit at the time of the crash.
