Ex-Minister Accused Of Embezzling $800K From First Baptist Church

Jerrell Altic, 40, is accused of stealing the money over a span of six-years from Houston's First Baptist Church.

HOUSTON, TX — A Harris County grand jury has indicted a former minister for embezzling more than $800,000 from Houston First Baptist Church, officials said Tuesday.

Jerrell Altic, 40, who is accused of stealing the money over a span of six-years that ended in November 2017, was expected to turn himself in to authorities on Tuesday morning.

Officials with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office will reveal more details about the case after Altic makes his court appearance Tuesday.
