Famous Hattie B's Hot Nashville Chicken Coming To Houston
The father-son founded fast-casual restaurant is building from the ground up in Houston and expected to open in the Heights in 2023.

HOUSTON, TX — A famous Nashville hot chicken restaurant, Hattie B's Hot Chicken, recently announced its plans to open a Houston location in The Heights.
Hattie B's, a fast casual concept founded by the father-son combo of Nick Bishop Sr. and Nick Bishop Jr., is headquartered in Nashville and also has locations in Memphis, Atlanta and Birmingham, Alabama, as well as a new spot in Las Vegas. The popular hot chicken place is opening its first Texas location in Dallas in February.
Hattie B's is building from the ground up at 1808 N. Shepherd Drive, which is currently a parking lot, according to a news release. Austin-based Michael Hsu Office of Architecture will head the project, and the proposed building will be 3,800 square feet, including a wrap-around patio totaling 1,200 square feet. It will seat approximately 175 customers.

"Houston is an amazing food city, and while it took some time, we found the right location, and we're excited and humbled to bring our little piece of Nashville to the vibrant community of The Heights," Nick Bishop Jr. said.

The Texas locations will be the first to offer draft cocktails and a rotating selection of sparkling wine in addition to typical craft beer offerings at other locations, according to the release.
The Hattie B's menu features hot chicken in three forms — bone-in, tenders and a sandwich — and customers can order from five different spice levels: Southern (no heat), mild, medium, hot and the restaurant's signature Shut the Cluck Up.
The menu is rounded out by a wide selection of scratch-made Southern sides, including pimento mac-and-cheese and collard greens, local craft beers, and banana pudding and peach cobbler for dessert.
"We can't wait to open in Houston and serve our authentic Nashville hot chicken," Nick Bishop Sr. said.
