FEMA Disaster Specialists Offer Recovery And Preparedness Tips

Mitigation specialists will be at various Home Depot and Lowes stores in Harris this week, and on Saturday.

HOUSTON, TX — Hurricane season may be here, but it's not too late to prepare for the possibility of the next big storm hitting the Texas Gulf Coast.

Disaster mitigation experts from the Federal Emergency Management Agency are at various building material stores in Harris County this week, and on Saturday to share tips that can help you be prepated and you better protect your property.

Some topics that will be covered include:

Specialists will also share tips and techniques on how to repair and build hazard-resistant homes using proven methods, to prevent future flood damage.

Specialists are eager to meet with anyone who has questions about disaster preparedness, even if Hurricane Harvey did not affect them.
