Man Who Was Pulled From A Southwest Houston House Fire Dies

A man rescued from a house fire on Wednesday morning has died from smoke inhalation, officials said.

HOUSTON — A man who was pulled from an early morning house fire on Wednesday morning has died from smoke inhalation, officials said. Firefighters were called to the home on Indigo Street in southwest Houston at about 2:30 a.m.

The fire had engulfed the garage portion of the home by the time help arrived. As they fought the flames, a neighbor alerted firefighters that a man was trapped in the home.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze and get inside the home to rescue the 58-year-old man, who was unconscious.

Rescuers performed CPR to revive the man and he was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition, but died hours later.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
