Flash Flood Warning Issued For Katy, Fulshear Areas
The National Weather Service Houston has issued the warning for parts of Fort Bend, Harris and Waller counties until 11 a.m. Friday.
KATY, TX — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning in the area around Katy and Fulshear.
The warning, which covers parts of Fort Bend, Harris and Waller counties, lasts until 11 a.m. According to the advisory, 2 to 5 inches of rain have fallen in the area and emergency management personnel have reported high water and impassable roads because of heavy thunderstorms in the area.
The places most affected are low-lying and poor drainage areas in Katy, Cinco Ranch and Fulshear, according to the warning.

Another storm is approaching the area that could produce 1 to 2 inches of rain per hour, according to the NWS. The warning advises drivers to avoid low-lying roads and to turn around instead of trying to drive through water-covered streets.
