Former Houston Porn Star Suing Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg

She claims the social media giant didn't prevent defamation

HOUSTON, TX — A former porn star claims Facebook didn't do enough to protect her image when she was defamed on the social media outlet, and now Lady Paree, 42, is fighting back in the judicial system. Paree La'Tiejira, of Houston, is suing Facebook and its owner, Mark Zuckerberg, and seeks $2 million in damages and $10 million in punitive damages.

The Houston Chronicle reported the case and stated a Houston federal court could decide Wednesday if the case will actually move to court. The defamation suit says "Facebook failed to remove hostile and defamatory comments a visitor posted on her Facebook page last year that falsely stated she was a transgender woman."

Kyle Anders is listed in the suit as the online heckler of La'Tiejira, whose films include "Big Bust Babes 13," "Immortal Desire," "The Knocker Room" and "Seymore Butts in Paradise."

La'Tiejira claims she is not transgender and says she has biological proof to show her biological gender. The online posts claim La'Tiejira is an NFL running back who's now a free agent, according to The Chronicle.

Jimmie L. J. Brown Jr. is her attorney, and he said Facebook didn't live up to the promise of removing hostile or defamatory remarks, a policy it previously put in place.

Brown said Zuckerberg and his company should be held liable since their failure to remove the posts in a timely manner caused promoters, producers and filmmakers to cease making contact with La'Tiejira, the Chronicle said.

La'Tiejira claims to have gone through depression and have suicidal thoughts.
