Former Precinct 1 Deputy Pleads Guilty To Cocaine Charge
Former Harris County Constable's deputy Alexsander Reyes was accused of escorting a shipment of cocaine and faces up to life in prison.
HOUSTON, TX — A former Harris County constable's deputy pled guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine, the U.S. Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
Alexsander Reyes, a 49-year-old former Harris County Precinct 1 deputy from Huffman, was accused of receiving $6,000 for providing an unauthorized escort with his patrol vehicle for a tractor-trailer that contained 10 kilograms of cocaine on Dec. 5, 2020, according to court documents.
The shipment contained fake drugs and was part of an undercover operation, leading to Reyes' arrest. The investigation was conducted by FBI Public Corruption along with the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, Houston Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety.

A competency hearing was held for Reyes on Dec. 14, and he promptly entered a guilty plea after he was found competent, court records show.
He will be sentenced on March 22 in the U.S. District Court Southern District of Texas and faces a minimum of 10 years to life in prison and a max $10 million fine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
