Fun with Furry Friends: Paws Fest Returns to LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch

KATY, Texas (September, 2024)—LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch is preparing to host its fourth annual Paws Fest — the premier canine festival of Katy, Texas, presented by PUCCI Café and co-sponsor Long Meadow Veterinary Clinic. The event is set to be held on Saturday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“As a dog-friendly shopping center, LaCenterra continues to elevate the shopping experience by welcoming not just guests but their furry friends too,” said Ulisa Quiroz, marketing coordinator at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch. “This year’s Paws Fest will offer an expanded lineup of activities, making it the ultimate shopping and entertainment experience for Katy’s dog lovers and puppy parents. From browsing pet-friendly shops and dining out with our four-legged friends to enjoying fun, tail-wagging moments, we’re certain that attendees will have a blast cheering on talented pups and soaking in the excitement with friends and family.”

The festival’s main event includes a series of action-packed competitions presented by DockDogs®, the independent governing and sanctioning body for dock jumping and dock diving canine performance sports. As in past years, the competitions taking place during the festival will serve as their only “National Sportsmen’s Series” event to be held in Texas this year. The competitions will take place in front of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at the times listed below.

• Onsite Registration/Practice – 9:00 a.m.
• Big Air Wave #2 – 10:00 a.m.
• Big Air Wave #3 – 12:00 p.m.
• Speed Retrieve (All in one finals) – 2:00 p.m.
• Big Air Finals – 4:00 p.m. (Pro, Semi Pro, Contender & Amateur Finals)

In addition to spectating or participating in the action-packed competitions, guests and their pets will also have the opportunity to enjoy various activities, including:

• On-site pet adoptions for families looking to add a furry friend, sponsored by Long Meadow Veterinary Clinic
• Dog costume contest at Central Green starting at 1 p.m.
• Browse products and services from dog-friendly vendors
• Shop and dine at LaCenterra’s dog–friendly stores and restaurants

Guests can quench their pup's thirst throughout the day at one of four dog-drinking fountains located throughout the center. LaCenterra also has two pet waste stations on-site located by Perry’s Steakhouse and Torchy’s Tacos. All dog-related amenities are presented by PUCCI Café.
