Halloween 2018: Finding Houston's Sex Offenders

Find the sex offenders in Houston and the surrounding area by checking out the Texas Department of Public Safety website.

HOUSTON, TX — Halloween is the first holiday of the fall season, and it's also a time when area children are roaming the streets for Halloween treats. The Texas Department of Public Safety wants families to have a safe and fun Halloween.

To help ensure your child's safety, the Texas DPS website has recently updated the list of registered sex offenders in the Houston area.

Families who want to be prepared for the Halloween season, and want to know where the sex offenders are can find them on the sex offender registry.

There are more than 20 registered sex offenders in downtown Houston who can be easily found on the website via their address, and that's the good news. The bad news is that there are three times as many who are registered sex offenders, but are transients and roaming the streets.

Other offenders are listed on the website as incarcerated in the county jail, or other facilities near downtown, who may be out soon when they are released on possibly an unrelated charge.

You can find the sex offenders in your area by checking the DPS Sex Offender Registry, and typing in your address, or zip code.
