Phase II Of Tomball Tollway Project Begins
The Tomball Tollway Project began in March 2017 and will take 34 months to complete.
TOMBALL, TX -- Phase II of the Tomball Tollway connecting Harris and Mongomery counties began in March 2017 and will take approximately 34 months to complete. The Harris County portion of the Tomball Tollway will extend just north of Spring Cypress Road to Spring Creek at the Harris/Montgomery county line.
The Montgomery County Toll Road Authority will continue the extension of the tollway into Montgomery County ending north of Woodtrace Boulevard. Montgomery County will begin construction on their portion of the tollway in the winter of 2017. Unlike phase I, the frontage roads will need to be constructed before beginning work on the tollway. During construction, HCTRA will maintain the existing number of lanes on State Highway 249 between Brown Road and Spring Creek to minimize traffic disruptions and congestion. Both portions of the project are expected to be completed in the winter of 2019.
