1. Harris Co. Judge Lina Hidalgo was accused of "disrespect" at the funeral of slain Corporal Charles Galloway of Harris County Pct. 5 and subsequently attacked on social media by officials. Sergeant Roy Guinn says Hidalgo "insisted on playing an unrequested, undesired role at the private Galloway funeral." (Fox 26 Houston)

2. A child died Thursday night after being shot in a northeast Harris County apartment complex at the 12200 block of Tidwell Road, authorities said. The victim's age has not been confirmed, but Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said he may be 11 or 12 years old. (KHOU 11)

3. A new Houston restaurant called Juliet at 5857 Westheimer Road is seeking to introduce to diners what it calls "Modern American Vibe Dining." The lobby of the restaurant looks like a movie theater with a candy display and popcorn machine. The dining room is decorated with scenes and characters from classic Hollywood films. The owner says he was inspired by trips to London and Los Angeles. (CultureMap Houston)

4. Houston firefighters are investigating if a house fire was sparked by a space heater. The fire happened on Bonner Street near Radcliffe on Thursday night. The homeowner safely escaped the fire, firefighters said. The house was a total loss. (ABC 13)

5. The Lone Star College System Board of Trustees will hold a special redistricting meeting on Wednesday, February 9th, at 5 p.m. The meeting was originally scheduled for Thursday, February 3rd, but was postponed and rescheduled due to inclement weather. Members of the public may attend both meetings in-person as well as participate via Zoom. (Lone Star College)

Join them on the plaza from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for live entertainment (this week is Jazz!), a BLCK market featuring 50 locally Black-owned entrepreneurs, art exhibits and educational activities with historical storytelling and cultural performances.
