Harris County Emergency Management Unveils New Alert System
The Ready Harris Alerts will be used during major events or emergencies to communicate important updates.

HOUSTON, TX — The Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management has introduced a new and improved mass notification system. Harris County Alerts, which we have used successfully during events like Hurricane Harvey since the program’s inception, has been replaced by Ready Harris Alerts.
Officials said that much like Harris County Alerts, the Ready Harris Alerts will be used during major events or emergencies to communicate important updates, as well as providing occasional tips and information throughout other parts of the year.
Ready Harris Alerts allows its users to select their preferred method of contact and how frequently alerts are received. Users can elect to be notified via email, text, phone call, or a combination of one or more options. By updating the phone number, email address, and physical address, residents can ensure they receive the alerts needed, based on their location.
