HOUSTON — Houston Police have released the sketch of a man they say shot and killed a man and wounded a woman during an armed robbery on Sunday morning. The shooting happened at about 5:25 a.m. in the 7400 block of Hillmont Street, police said.

Homicide investigators said Marlin Jordan, 26, and Maya Brashier, 19, were walking home from work when a black man with a gun came up to them and demanded they hand over their money and valuables.

Police said the robber took Brashier’s purse and backpack and shot Jordan and Brashier before fleeing the area on foot.

Paramedics transported both victims to a hospital. Jordan was later pronounced dead, and Brashier remains hospitalized in unknown condition.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 40s, about 5-feet-9 inches tall with an average build. He was wearing a white muscle shirt with gray sweatpants or shorts.
