Have You Seen Him: Man Shoots Boy, 7, In Drive-by Shooting

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is looking for Omarion Bailey, who is wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting that wounded a child.

HOUSTON, TX — A 19-year-old man who allegedly shot into a car on a busy street, and wounded a 7-year-old boy is on the run and wanted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Unit.

Omarion Philip Bailey is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly shot into a vehicle that was driven by an 18-year-old man along with his 6 and 7-year-old brothers.

The shooting happened on Saturday, Dec. 8, at around 2:00pm, according to police.

Investigators said Bailey was driving a late model Dodge Stratos in the west Houston neighborhood, when he saw the 18-year-old man behind the wheel of a Cadillac Escalade at the corner of Fort Stanton and Grey Hawk.

Witnesses said Bailey shot at the Escalade while it was stopped at the intersection.

The 7-year-old boy was hit by gunfire in the upper back. He was taken to Katy Memorial Hermann Hospital, and later transported by LifeFlight to Texas Children’s Hospital (Medical Center) where he underwent surgery.

He is currently in good condition and is expected to make a full recovery. The other child and the driver of the Escalade were not hit by gunfire.

Bailey fled the area immediately after the shooting. Bailey is 5-feet-7 and weighs 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown colored eyes.
