'High Risk' Mosquito Flyers Not From City
Sugar Land city government put out a notice that flyers about areas that are at a high risk for mosquitoes aren't from the city.

Sugar Land, TX -- Someone has been going around telling people that they live in 'high risk' areas for mosquitoes. The flyer 'offers' residents the chance for a free mosquito spraying.
Since the ad is made up to look like an official notice from the city, even including the phrase city notice along with the city seal, it's confusing area residents. They are not from the city, they are flyers from a pest control company that needs to be reminded of the deceptive trade practices act.
The city of Sugar Land issued a statement explaining that the ad did not originate from the city and that the company has nothing to do with the city.
