The arrests were a collaborative effort between the Harris County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Unit, Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and Violent Crimes Unit Investigators.

Homicide Investigators said that information obtained after Turner's arrest, revealed electronic data and physical evidence linking Wharton to the capital murder.

Wharton allegedly implicated himself and Turner to investigators while being interviewed about this incident.

The black Ford Fusion that was the center of the search for the murder suspects was also located and removed for processing.

Both men are being held in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility without bond.
