Houston: 2 Men Found Dead In Separate Incidents Thursday

One identified, the other undergoing forensics for identification

HOUSTON, TX — Houston Police were called two separate times Thursday on similar calls of a man found dead. One has been identified as Donald Crenshaw, 37, of Pasadena while the other remains unidentified.

HPD is awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man whose body was found in Brays Bayou at 5600 Old Spanish Trail about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. The identity of the victim, believed to be 26 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Homicide Division Detectives R. Klementich and T. Colbert reported that officers were called on reports that a male's body was found in the bayou. He was pronounced dead by paramedics. A preliminary investigation indicated no visible trauma to his body and the victim was believed to be homeless. Investigators are awaiting an autopsy to determine the man's cause of death.

About two hours later police responded to 150 North Chenevert for a similar call. The victim has been identified as Crenshaw, 37.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Stark and G. Sullivan reported that on Monday, a citizen called 911 to report his friend, Mr. Crenshaw, had fallen off a freeway overpass. The citizen stated Crenshaw was hurt and he was unable to reach him.

Officers and investigators immediately began searching for Crenshaw without success until a body was located on Thursday on the bank of a bayou at the above address. The body matched the description of Crenshaw and his identification was recovered on his person. The investigation is continuing.
