1. Houston chef Aaron Bludorn of Bludorn Restaurant and barbeque pitmaster Leonard Botello IV, the owner of TRUTH, BBQ, are teaming up to host a dinner benefitting World Central Kitchen’s #ChefsForUkraine mission in Houston. The event will be held on Thursday, May 12 at Bludorn Restaurant and tickets are now available. (PaperCity Magazine)
2. The Harris County Precinct 5 Constable's Office shared video from a Ring camera hoping to catch a suspect seen stealing from a mailbox. According to the constable's office, the camera caught the thief in the 13100 block of Kimberley Lane in west Houston. (KHOU 11)
3. Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo attacked county prosecutors for weaponizing the system with a "flimsy" case. Investigators allege Triantaphyllis, Dunn and Nader steered a nearly $11 million COVID-19 vaccine outreach contract to a small Houston-based firm and shared proposal documents with the company before they were made public. 4. A registered sex offender is behind bars again in Harris County after being accused of putting a camera underneath an occupied bathroom stall at a Home Depot. 59-year-old Danny Lee Weddle is charged with invasive visual recording and is being held on a $15,000 bond. (ABC 13)
5. Tupps Brewery partnered with Silver Eagle Distributors Houston, LLC in September 2021 to enter the Houston market beginning with draft only. Now, the team is ready to launch cans into the market. It is one of the top 10 independently owned craft breweries in Texas, and has already expanded its presence throughout North Texas, Austin, San Antonio, East Texas, and West Texas.
