Houston City Hall Bathed In Maleah's Favorite Color
Houston City Hall turns pink in honor of Maleah Davis Day on June 9.

HOUSTON — The tragic death of 4-year-old Maleah Davis left Houston City Hall bathed in a warm glow of pink lights on Sunday night. It was a fitting end to Maleah Davis Day — a day designated by Mayor Sylvester Turner to pay tribute to a child whose life was stolen before it could begin.
The day honoring her memory began Sunday morning with a “Walk with Maleah” event outside Houston City Hall. The sea of supporters walked from city hall to the Harris County Jail, where Derion Vence, the man suspected in her death, is being held and where supporters held a moment of silence.
Supporters returned to City Hall Sunday night to see the downtown monolith become bathed in pink lights — Maleah’s favorite color.
