1. Common Bond bakery will open two of its On-The-Go locations at Memorial City this fall. One will open as part of the Lawn at Memorial City greenspace and another in the Two Memorial City Plaza office tower. (CultureMap Houston)
2. Southern District of Texas won an injunction against Houston-based credit repair company, Turbo Solutions Credit Repair Company and its CEO Alexander V. Miller, to protect customers. The complaint alleges that the defendants used internet websites and telemarketing to falsely claim that the defendants could improve consumers’ credit scores by removing all negative items from consumers’ credit reports. Many consumers allegedly paid defendants a fee ranging from several hundred dollars to $1,500, but did not receive the higher credit scores defendants promised. (Houston Patch, Justice.Gov)
3. Klein ISD is being sued for allegedly failing to tell police that a student was sexually assaulted by a sixth-grade classmate. The federal lawsuit, filed last week by the boy's mother, claims that multiple staffers, including administrators at the school, knew about the abuse but did nothing. (ABC 13)
4. NBA player Christian Wood set career highs with eight 3-pointers and 39 points as the Houston Rockets used a huge late run to rally for a 115-97 win over the Washington Wizards on Monday night. The Rockets will meet the Dallas Mavericks tonight at 7:30 p.m. (KHOU 11)
5. Katy's Hemu Basu, a multi-award-winning cake artist and the owner of Hemu’s Sweet Sensation LLC, is currently on "Is it Cake?" on Netflix. She started her journey in Scotland and then moved to Texas with her family in August 2015. (Click2Houston)
