Houston Doctor Asked To Cover Up Romper By American Airlines
Dr. Tisha Rowe says American Airlines staff forced her to cover up a romper with a blanket she wore on a flight from Jamaica last month.

HOUSTON, TX — A Houston area doctor took to social media after she said American Airlines employees humiliated her and threatened to remove her from her flight because of how she was dressed.
Dr. Tisha Rowe was traveling from Jamaica last month and had boarded the flight with her son to Miami. Rowe said she was confronted by flight attendants and briefly asked to deplane.
Rowe, who’d boarded the flight wearing what many would describe as a romper, was told to cover up by American Airlines personnel, or she would not be allowed to board the flight, according to a KTRK report.

After a back and forth discussion, Rowe said she wrapped a blanket around herself and was allowed to return to her seat with her 8-year-old son.
American Airlines apologized for the incident and released this statement:

"We were concerned about Dr. Rowe's comments, and reached out to her and our team at the Kingston airport to gather more information about what occurred. We apologize to Dr. Rowe and her son for their experience, and have fully refunded their travel. We are proud to serve customers of all backgrounds and are committed to providing a positive, safe travel experience for everyone who flies with us."
Rowe said despite the apology, she was humiliated in front of her son and felt that she was targeted because of her race and because she is a woman, the Houston Chronicle reported.
"As an African-American woman people look at us as having less power, we are a double minority," Rowe said.
