Houston PD Investigating Fatal Shooting Tuesday Night

35-year-old Cornelius Williams shot by unknown suspects, drove away and crashed into fire hydrant

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting that occurred at 6100 Moss Oaks Drive at about 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornelius Williams, 35, of Houston, was pronounced dead at Lyndon Baines Johnson General Hospital.

According to HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov, Williams and his 6-year-old nephew were traveling in the 12200 block of Swan River when he was shot at least once by an unknown suspect(s).

Williams attempted to drive away from the location but crashed into a fire hydrant. Witnesses removed the child from the vehicle and attempted to provide medical assistance to Williams until HFD paramedics arrived. Williams was then transported to the hospital.
