Houston Police Find Decomposing Body While Responding To Burglary
Police responding to a burglary call at a scrapyard discovered the decomposing body of a homeless man at a nearby abandoned warehouse.
HOUSTON, TX — Houston Police officers discovered a decomposing body inside an abandoned warehouse while searching for five burglary suspects, officials said. Police made the grim discovery at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday near a scrapyard in the 3600 block of Schalker Drive in northeast Houston.
Police said the owner of the scrap yard received an alert of a break in at his business and called police when he saw five men in video surveillance.
When police got to the business, the five men ran off which led to a search of the area, police said.

Assisted by K9, FOX and Central Officers one of the five suspects was apprehended. While checking the area officers located the body of a male deceased from unknown causes in an abandoned warehouse. 202

Police caught and arrested one of the burglars they found hiding behind a dumpster near the scrapyard, officials said.
While police were searching for the other four burglars, officers found the body. Police do not know how the person died, but believe he was homeless and had been there for several days.

The other four burglary suspects are still on the run.
