Houston Police Release Sketch Of Man Wanted In 3 Shootings
Police are looking for a man who who shot a man last month and who may have also shot and killed a Baytown man in August.

HOUSTON, TX —Houston Police released a sketch of a man who shot a man while he was out for a walk in the Heights. The shooting happened on Oct. 16 at 2046 Cortlandt, police said.
Sgt. K. Mokwa, a detective with HPD's Major Assaults and Family Violence Division, said the 38-year-old victim was walking his dog at about 9:30 p.m. when a man in a silver ore gray Chevrolet Malibu drove up and began shooting at him.
The victim told police that the man was a dark-skinned black male in his late 20s or early 30s, about 6-feet-2. Police released surveillance photos taken of the car at the time of the shooting.

The victim, who was shot twice, was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Mokwa said investigators believe the shooting is related to another incident in the area, and the drive-by shooting in Baytown in August that killed 84-year-old Sam Wingate.

Wingate was on an early morning walk with a friend, when a car similar to the one used in the Heights shooting, drove past the men and fired several shots.
Lt. Steve Dorris, a spokesman with the Baytown Police Department, said the vehicle description as well as the tactics used by the suspect in all the shootings led police to believe the incidents could be related.
"Logic will tell you that if the vehicle is the same, there's a high probability that the suspect is the same," Dorris said.
Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division at 713-308-8800 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
