HOUSTON, TX — The first day of school in the Houston School District is August 27, the first day for Alief Independent is August 15 and the first day for Aldine Independent School District is August 20. Whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Houston, Alief Independent and Aldine Independent School Districts have released their 2018-2019 calendars for public schools.
The calendars include important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.
