1. Dozens of Houstonians gathered together on Thursday afternoon in protest of Russian President Vladimir Putin's decision to invade Ukraine. Consul general of the Ukrainian Consulate in Houston Vitalli Tarasiuk called on the western world to tighten economic sanctions on Russia, as he urged Houstonians to support the nation. 2. A Houston woman discovered her husband she's seeking a divorce from was tracking her with new technology called Apple Airtag. Apple Airtag relies on Bluetooth technology, in addition to the Find My iPhone app from an individual's iPhone which is used to pin point its location. (ABC 13)
3. Due to pandemic delays, the Houston Kosher Chili Cookoff committee has moved the March 6th cookoff to Sunday, November 6th. The event will be held at Congregation Beth Yeshurun. "The safety of our participants, judges and attendees remains our top priority," said Rabbi Mendy Traxler. (JHV)
4. From February 24th to March 8th, RedCoach is offering a 90 percent discount to the Houston market for university students and the general population, according to a release. The discount is available for all routes to and from both Houston-area departure points. (CultureMap Houston)
5. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said Thursday that masks will no longer be required in city buildings as COVID-19 cases continue to decline from the Omicron variant. The mayor also cited a drop in hospitalizations in the justification for the change. (Fox 26 Houston)
