Ted Cruz And Jimmy Kimmel Face Off In Blobfish Basketball Classic
Trash talking: A Twitter war between Sen. Ted Cruz and bombastic talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel has morphed into a charity basketball game
HOUSTON, TX — What began as a trash-talking Twitter battle between late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has morphed into something quite unlikely: A charity basketball game.
The perceived Biggest One-On-One Game in Basketball History takes place this weekend when Kimmel and Cruz square-off on the hard court at Texas Southern University in downtown Houston at 2:30 p.m. on June 16.
The shenanigans began in the moments after Game 7 of the NBA Western Conference Finals when the Houston Rockets fell to the Golden State Warriors.

In typical Kimmel fashion, the talk show host compared the junior senator from Texas to a blob fish, and blamed Cruz for the Rockets loss.
The pair went back and forth, before Cruz, who admittedly rode the bench on his high school basketball team, challenged the former stand-up comic to a game of pickup basketball, which Kimmel accepted and has since dubbed the contest as the Blobfish Basketball Classic.
