Local Students Soar to Victory at Harmony's Aerial Drone Competition

Harmony School of Excellence–Katy Middle High campus was filled with energy and excitement last Saturday as it hosted the 9th Annual Aerial Drone Competition, an event that brought together nearly 200 students representing 40 teams from schools across Texas.

The competition, themed Mission 2025: Time Warp, challenged students to demonstrate their technical and problem-solving skills as they guided drones through timed missions and obstacle courses. The event highlighted not only student innovation but also the value of teamwork and communication in STEM education.

“This competition was an outstanding display of energy, teamwork, and talent,” said event coordinator Yilmaz Kahraman, who credited the students, coaches, and volunteers for the event’s success.

Top-performing teams were recognized for their achievements and will advance to the championship level:

  • All-Around Champion – Middle School: Harmony School of Excellence–Houston, Team 6012C (Drone Tigers)
  • All-Around Champion – High School: Harmony School of Advancement, Team 96610A (Harmony Hawks #1)
  • Teamwork Mission Champion: Harmony School of Excellence–Houston, Teams 6012B (HSE Drones B) and 6012A (HSE Drones A)
  • Judges Award: Harmony School of Discovery, Team 11461A

The annual Aerial Drone Competition continues to promote innovation, teamwork, and STEM engagement among Harmony students, allowing young engineers to explore technology in action.
