Man Charged With Capital Murder In Botched Home Invasion
Bobby Joe Turner was arrested two days after he allegedly shot and killed Leandro Morales Jr, 47, during a home invasion on Nov. 29.

CYPRESS, TX — Homicide investigators with the Harris County Sheriff's Office have arrested and charged 18-year-old Bobby Joe Turner for the Capital Murder of a local Cypress man.
Turner was arrested Saturday evening by members of the HCSO Homicide unit, Violent Crime unit and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force.
Investigators in the case said that on Nov. 29, at approximately 11:30 a.m., Turner forced his way into a home, located at 10811 Gates Randal Court in far west Harris County.

Police said Turner confronted the homeowner, identified as 47-year-old Leandro Morales Jr., after demanding money from the victim.
During the robbery, police said Turner shot and killed Morales, before fleeing the home.

Morales' wife, who was in the home at the time, said her husband heard a noise and went to investigate. A short time later, she heard a gunshot, and found her husband dead.
Robbery appeared to be the motive.
The investigation is still on going and investigators are diligently following all leads.
