THE WOODLANDS, TX — A man who’d been reported missing last week after meeting his fiance for drinks, was found badly injured in a wooded area by Texas Equusearch volunteers, officials said.

Jose Velasquez, 32, who was last seen on June 26 as he was leaving a Houston area bar, was badly injured and in his car for five days after he’d run off the roadway near FM 1488 and State Highway 242.

Texas EquuSearch volunteers were searching the wooded area after Velasquez’s phone pinged to the wooded area, according to a KTRK report.

Volunteers began searching the wooded area for Velasquez Sunday morning and found him deep in the woods laying next to his car late Sunday afternoon.

"Jose was badly injured and trapped in the woods for five days without food or water. Thankfully, he has been found alive, and we hope he will now have the opportunity to live another day and many more years," Texas EquuSearch officials said.
