Police said a man who refused a pat-down search to get into a club, came back and fired about 20 shots at the club killing 1 and wounding 6.

HOUSTON — A 13-year-old boy was killed and five others were injured when a man fired off about shots at a club in north Houston, police said. The shooting happened at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday in 4500 block of Yale Street.

Witnesses told police that a man tried to get into the club which was hosting a teen party, but was not let in because he refused a pat-down search by security. The man left the area, but returned a short time later and started a fight in the parking lot that erupted into gunfire.

Investigators said as many as 20 rounds were fired toward the club, sending bullets and flying glass into the club.
