1. California-based Mendocino Farms will open its fifth Houston-area location in downtown’s Two Allen Center on Tuesday, April 26. Menu items include Thai Mango Salad, "Not So Fried” Chicken Sandwich, Avocado and Quinoa Superfood Ensalada, Chimichurri Steak & Shishito Bowl, and more. (CultureMap Houston)

2. A man was shot to death after he refused to obey orders from Pasadena police officers to drop his weapon, officials say. The incident began at about 10 a.m. Tuesday near the 3100 block of Spencer Highway. Police say they received a call of a man pointing a handgun into the air near a Hartz Chicken restaurant. (ABC 13)

3. A stolen ambulance crashed Tuesday morning in west Houston after it was taken from Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center by an escapee, Houston police said. The suspect ran into a home near the crash scene in the 11400 block of Harwin near Boone Road, near Westpark Tollway and Beltway 8. (KHOU 11)

4. The mother of a toddler who was allegedly sexually abused at a southwest Houston daycare has sued the facility for more than $1 million. Bivona Law has filed a lawsuit on the mother's behalf against Prince and Princess Daycare on West Airport. (Fox 26 Houston)

5. A summer camp at Houston Community College's Stafford campus from June 6 to June 10 will introduce high school juniors and seniors to smart manufacturing and the basics of computer-aided design, plasma cutting and the role of robotic instrumentation. The HCC camp is funded by a 2022 grant from Nuts, Bolts, & Thingamajigs, the philanthropic foundation of the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association in Elgin, Illinois.
