1. Kitchen United MIX has opened its newest ghost kitchen facility inside the Kroger at 1035 N. Shepherd Dr. in Houston. More than 10 restaurant brands will be offered on third-party apps including Fuddruckers, The Rustic, Buca di Beppo, Dog Haus, and Burns Original BBQ. (CultureMap Hoston)

2. University of Houston researchers have received $4.4 million from the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) for two projects developed in the Cullen College of Engineering and Texas Center for Superconductivity at the University of Houston (TcSUH). The program prioritizes financing technologies that support novel approaches to clean energy challenges. (University of Houston)

3. A Houston mother was sentenced to serve 40 years in prison after beating her 5-year-old daughter to death with a belt and lying about it, according to Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg. 24-year-old Andrea Webb was found guilty in September for a first-degree felony of injury to a child. 4. A judge has set bond at $200,000 for a Trevyon Tellis accused of killing his friend after a robbery in the Third Ward. The case is set to be tried as capital murder due to the close relationship between the victim and accused. Tellis will wear an ankle monitor, cannot have contact with the victim's family, and is only allowed to leave the house from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for work if he posts bond. (ABC 13)

5. PBS Emmy award-winning documentary series, The Migrant Kitchen, took its viewers to Houston for the first time on Tuesday, February 15th. The episode focused on Black businesses and featured Chris Williams, of Lucille's, and Jonny Rhodes of Broham Fine Soul Food and Groceries. It is available to stream online on YouTube.
