Mom Abandons Baby In Motel Room, Jailed For Child Endangerment
Charmaine Delquis Edmond, 25 is charged with child endangerment and child abandonment, police said.

SPRING, TEXAS — A 25-year-old woman was arrested Monday evening after police said she left her infant daughter alone in a motel room. Harris County Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse Unit investigators charged Charmaine Delquis Edmond with child endangerment and child abandonment.
Sheriff's deputies were called to the Best Classic Inn located at 1316 Rankin Circle Drive in north Harris County, after the motel manager found the 6-month-old girl in a room all alone at around 2:30 p.m.
The manager told deputies that Edmond checked into the room on Sunday evening. It is unclear how long the infant girl was alone until being discovered by motel personnel.

The infant was taken by EMS to Texas Children’s Hospital in the Woodlands for an initial examination.
The infant did not suffer any significant injuries and was placed in the custody of Children’s Protective Services.

Several hours later, Edmond came back to the motel room and found her child missing. She went and began inquiring to management about the whereabouts of her infant, and sheriff's deputies were called to the motel.
Child Abuse Investigators arrived and detained Edmond for questioning. Her statement was confusing and constantly changed while being interviewed.
She was arrested is being held on a $1000 bond. She has a court appearance on Nov. 26 in the 182nd Felony Court.
