Mom Sentenced To Prison For Starving Stepson, 5

Tammi Bleimeyer, 38, was convicted on Dec. 6 of injury to a child by omission, and will spend the next 28 years in prison.

HOUSTON, TX — A Spring woman who was accused of abusing and starving her then 5-year-old stepson nearly to death, was sentenced to 28 years in prison on Monday. Tammi Bleimeyer, 38, was convicted on Dec. 6 of injury to a child by omission.

Police arrested Bleimeyer in February 2015 after they were tipped off months earlier by Bleimeyer’s 16-year-old son that his mother was forcing his stepbrother to live under the stairs in a locked closet and wear only a diaper.

Harris County Pct. 4 Constable Mark Herman, whose office investigated the case, said deputies were horrified when they found Jordan Bleimeyer, who was emaciated and weighed only 29 pounds.

Jordan Bleimeyer was placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, where he remained for nearly a year before he was released to the custody of a family member, officials said.

Tammi Bleimeyer’s husband, Bradley Bleimeyer, was convicted in 2016 for his role in the crime and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Bleimeyer’s children testified during her trial last week that she was the leader of the family, and “in control.”

Cody Frank, Jordan Bleimeyer’s stepbrother, testified that his stepfather was abusive and that he often heard him using a taser, and then heard his brother begging Bradley Bleimeyer to stop.

Jordan is in the custody of his biological mother.
