New School Clinics at YES Prep Hobby Bring Health Care Directly to Students
Legacy Community Health and YES Prep Public Schools partner to expand access to medical and mental health services for families in Southeast

Legacy Community Health and YES Prep Public Schools recently celebrated the opening of two new school-based health clinics at YES Prep Hobby Elementary and YES Prep Hobby Secondary in Southeast Houston. Located on the same campus property, the clinics bring essential medical, mental health, vision, and dental services directly to where students learn—removing transportation barriers and supporting the well-being of families in the community.
Located at 7660 Hansen Rd. and 8787 Tallyho Rd., the new clinics bring essential health services directly to where students learn—helping reduce transportation barriers and improving access to care for local families. This expansion marks the 20th and 21st joint school clinics between YES Prep and Legacy, and brings the total number of Legacy school-based clinics in Greater Houston and Galena Park to 39.
“Health and education go hand in hand,” said Robert Palussek, CEO of Legacy Community Health. “These clinics represent what’s possible when schools and health care providers unite to support the whole child.”

School-Based Health Care Impact
In the 2024–2025 school year, Legacy’s school-based health program completed over 72,000 appointments and served nearly 14,000 students. By delivering care inside schools, the program reduces missed class time and helps close gaps in health access for families who might otherwise struggle to get care.
“Too many families delay or forgo care because they can’t take time off work or find transportation,” said Stephanie Ramirez. “Bringing the clinic into the school supports students' physical and emotional well-being in a safe and convenient setting.”
Community Support: 15th Annual Frank Billingsley Golf Classic
Support for Legacy’s school-based clinics comes in part from community events like the 15th Annual Frank Billingsley Golf Classic, which will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Sweetwater Country Club. Proceeds help ensure clinics like those at YES Prep Hobby continue providing critical care to students across Houston.
