Highway 290 Cleared Following Overturned 18-Wheeler
An overturned 18-wheeler closed all westbound lanes on 290 on Thursday morning. The scene was cleared and lanes reopened just before 1 p.m.
JERSEY VILLAGE, TX — All lanes are open on Highway 290 after authorities cleared an overturned 18-wheeler that crashed on the highway near the exit for FM 1960 on Thursday morning.
All westbound lanes were blocked while authorities worked to clear the area.
Hazmat and heavy-duty crews were on scene to assist the Harris County Sheriff's Office and Jersey Village Police Department in cleaning up the site, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The road was closed before 7 a.m. until nearly 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon, forcing drivers to avoid the area by exiting at Spencer Road/FM 529 and turning onto Highway 6 before making their way back to Highway 290.
