• SWAT called for barricaded suspect in Southeast Houston, police say (fox26houston.com) — A SWAT team is responding this morning to a barricaded suspect on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Fairgreen Lane in Southeast Houston after officers answered a crisis call. Police say shots were allegedly fired but no injuries are reported, and details remain limited as the situation develops.
   

• 2 Harris County Pct. 4 deputies hurt after being struck by suspected drunk driver fleeing law enforcement (click2houston.com) — Two Harris County Precinct 4 deputies serving the Houston area were injured on New Year’s Eve when a suspected drunk driver rammed patrol vehicles during a chase in a north Harris County neighborhood. One deputy was taken to the hospital, while the other’s condition is still being evaluated as investigators review the pursuit and possible intoxication charges.
