Police Seek Man Accused Of Woman's Murder In North Harris County

Cedrick Jamia Rideau, 35, is wanted for the shooting death of a woman at the Portofino Landing Apartments on Tuesday morning.

HOUSTON, TX — Homicide investigators are looking for a 35-year-old man they say shot a woman to death inside her home on Tuesday morning. Harris County Sheriff's deputies were called to the Portofino Landing Apartments in the 900 block of Cypress Station at about 8:30 a.m. for a shooting.

When deputies got to the apartment complex, they found a 36-year-old woman who'd been shot in the head. Witnesses told investigators they'd seen the woman arguing with a man, later identified as 35-year old Cedrick Jamia Rideau.

Witnesses told police they'd seen Rideau running from the area, jumping a fence, and fleeing in an older model dark color Saturn immediately after the shooting.

Investigators later filed murder charges on Cedrick Rideau for the shooting death of the victim. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to Rideau's arrest.
