1. The Harris County GOP is calling for the resignation or firing of Elections Administrator Isabel Longoria following the primary election held on Tuesday. The Harris County Republican Party Chairman Cindy Siegel said, "today you have seen what happens when you put the wrong person in the job" and "this election was an unmitigated disaster.” (KHOU 11)
2. Target opened the company's first sortation centers in Houston in early February. The 173,900-square-foot facility is at 16275 Tomball Parkway in California-based Panattoni Development Company Inc.'s Park 249 Business Center. It is part of a $5 billion expansion for the retail giant. (Subscription: Houston Business Journal)
3. A new Houston restaurant called Saigon Hustle located at 3323 Ella Boulevard is selling Vietnamese food favorites including banh mi and barbecue rib-eye rice bowls through a drive-thru. The popularity of the concept has expanded operating hours from lunch-only to dinner service until 10 p.m. (Eater Houston)
4. Over 8 months after a mother, father, and their 6-year-old daughter were killed in a brutal murder at their apartment in southwest Houston, a second suspect has been charged. 29-year-old Alexus Williams is charged with two counts of capital murder, one count of capital murder of a victim under 10 years old and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. 5. The British baker behind the viral Sprinklegate affair will host a pop-up in Houston this weekend on Saturday and Sunday at Fluff Bake Bar in The Heights. Chef and Owner Rich Myers is bringing his Get Baked concept to town. (CultureMap Houston)
