Sen. Ted Cruz Struck By Flying White Claw During World Series Parade
"I know, I'm an idiot," the man accused of hurling the hard seltzer said as he was detained, according to a local NBC affiliate.

HOUSTON, TX — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz was pelted with a can of alcohol while participating in the victory parade for the Houston Astros’ World Series win, according to police.
The incident occurred Monday in the 2400 block of Smith Street, according to Houston police, who said Cruz was struck in the chest and neck area but did not require medical attention.
In a video of the attack circulating on Twitter, the crowd is booing Cruz when a can flies through the air directly at the senator, who is on a parade vehicle, at which point Cruz and another person aboard the vehicle extend their arms to block it. Police said the projectile was a beer can but Cruz in a tweet described it as a White Claw hard seltzer. Harris County prosecutors claim two cans were thrown, according to NBC News.
