Suspect Killed By Deputies Serving Felony Warrant, Police Say
Two deputies shot and killed a suspect as he tried to escape through a back door, police said.

HOUSTON — Two Harris County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Gulf Coast Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force shot and killed a 29-year-old man while serving a felony warrant Monday morning, according to police. The shooting happened just before 11 a.m. in the 700 block of East 12 1/2 Street in the Heights.
Officials with the multi-agency task force were looking for the man who was wanted on multiple felony charges.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said task force members were given permission by the homeowner to come inside and arrest the man listed on the warrant. Acevedo said the homeowner told police that the man was armed and was inside the home.
