1. The San Jacinto College Mosaic Program supports African-American and Black-identifying students. Mosaic Family Night, a cross-campus event on February 17, welcomed faculty, staff, students, and their families to celebrate African-American culture. Attendees came together for an evening of food, games, raffle prizes, arts and crafts, presentations, and entertainment centering around Black History Month. (Houston Patch)
2. Surveillance footage provided by the Houston Police Department shows at least two men driving up to a car dealership in March in the 7300 block of Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston. 3. An 80-year-old mother was found dead inside her northwest Harris County home Saturday afternoon, according to deputies with Harris County Sheriff’s Office. It happened in the 16100 block of Golden Sands Drive near West Road in Copperfield shortly before 4 p.m. (Click2Houston)
4. Three Brothers Bakery will open its fourth store at the Tanglewood Center (500 Chimney Rock Rd.) this year. The bakery, a staple of Houston's Jewish community, serves breads, cakes, cookies, pies and other items. (CultureMap Houston)

James Beard Award-winning chef Chris Shepherd and his nonprofit organization, the Southern Smoke Foundation, are bringing back the Southern Smoke Festival this October, featuring a lineup of more than 60 talented chefs and culinary celebrities from around the country, with more than half from Houston.
